Ice Age

1995–1996

English Ice Age was first released in June, 1995; the foreign languages are all dated 1996. The English cards exist in multiple print runs. Ice Age is one of three sets (the other ones being 4th Edition and Chronicles) which are even discernible in the packaging: The first print runs had a lower price than the later ones. Some of these have a high gloss coating. In case of Disenchant, the printing plate got damaged, resulting in a small black line that later extended (see here). That allows to recontruct the chronological printing order.

The copyright lines of foreign Ice Age cards are slightly smaller as normal and the C  in the © symbol is serifless. The only other sets with these were the Introductory 2-Players Set, Japanese 4th Edition, and foreign Alliances.
The foreign print variants are probably booster and starter versions. The sun of the white mana symbol is aligned differently within the circle.

Ice Age is the only set for which artist proofs in five different languages exist, all except German.
