Core Set 2020 was released on July 12, 2019. It contained 280 regular cards and 64 special product and promotional cards. For the first time since the creation of Naturalize, Disenchant was included in a standard legal set and for the first time in a set supporting all 11 languages.

Starting with Core Set 2020, the frequency of foil cards was increased from 1:67 to 1:45. When they were first added to booster packs (Urza’s Legacy in 1999), the rates were 1:100, starting with Torment in 2002 it changed to 1:70. Core Set 2020 was also the first set entirely printed on a new developed card stock (first usage War of the Spark second print run). The cards seem to be more elastic compared to those from the past couple of years.

Theme booster variants have a thick horizontal line with a smooth bottom edge (see here) and are front cut for being made in the US (same is valid for Planeswalker Decks cards, at least since Throne of Eldraine). Those boosters exist since Dominaria. They contain 35 non-foil cards, the themes are mostly a single color with some special ones related to the respective set.
