Mercadian Masques was released in October 1999 and contained 350 cards. It was the first large set with a foil version of each card (introduced with Urza's Legacy) and the first time Disenchant was printed in foil. However, there are no Traditional Chinese versions.

Since Mercadian Masques, preconstructed decks had been referred to as theme decks. These contain front cut cards.
